The Nardelli family cultivates the land and is passionate about agriculture for several generations. The grandparents and great-grandparents of the young brothers Bernardino and Francesco were farmers, harvesting olives and cherries in the land that they are still taking care of today. Thanks to a particular attention to the organic farming procedures, Sapori di Casa offers a wide range of simple products processed and packaged with genuine recipes, inherited from the local gastronomic tradition and handed down for generations.
Thanks to the university studies of the two Nardelli brothers, today the company has added to the cultivation also the food production of jams and preserves, made with zero-kilometer vegetables harvested exclusively near Conversano, in Puglia. The company also produces all that is necessary for preserves, including extra virgin olive oil. To these are added the ready sauces, made with local tomatoes boiled immediately after harvest, paté and cherry fruit juices.
"The earth produces wheat. But man produces the dream of wheat, and it is the dream that allows the realization of things."
Conversano is our home, and is the home of cherries. To grow here means to be bound to this fruit in an indissoluble way, live the earth fully and let the rhythms of the day mark the spring harvest. For us it has always been so. This is another reason why we work today respecting tradition, because tradition is part of our history. We grow three varieties of cherries: ferrovia, bigarreaux and giorgia. With these we make jam, extra black cherry jam, cherries in syrup or in spirit, and 100% cherry fruit juice, without added sugar, preservatives and dyes.
"One leads to another," the saying goes, and it is really so! Because we are so greedy that we decided to make us jams and juices to be able to taste them even in winter. Cherries are one of the most loved fruits, with few calories and with a lot of natural melatonin, and are harvested during the spring-summer period from May to June.
We cultivate Apulia’s typical products and we work them by hand with our extra virgin olive oil, as it was done in the old times. From our grandparents we inherited the passion for the countryside and the desire to share, from our studies the attention for details and the wish to reinvent ourselves every single day.
